Eight Paintings, August 2016

Bennett says: Despite the oppressive heat and the humidity that made it hard for paint to dry, I enjoyed making eight paintings during my August vacation. Among other things, these paintings are about edges, figure-ground issues, and color relationships. They are all acrylic on paper and each is about 13 inches square. I hope you enjoy them.

Last Two Paintings of 2015

These are the last two paintings I did in 2015, part of the same series shown in the previous blog entry. Each year I make a small painting on paper as a birthday card for my son Sam. His birthday is in November, but I didn’t get to make the painting until December. Sam was patient. The ground color in Sam’s Card is a blue unlike the black found in all the others in this series. For many years all my work was black and white without any hue at all. I am drawn to black.
